It is a scary reality in the modern world with all the challenges we face and now for some people and their families they must tackle the big C. The facts are even scarier; 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their life time. A statistic that is just staggering to face and battle with

The Merrivale Cricket Club (MCC) takes great pride in its efforts of utilising our platform to push a cause that is greater than ourselves to inflict real change.

The McGrath Foundation and its efforts to raise funds for Nurses to support Cancer patients and their families is a cause that runs deep in our club. Unfortunately many members of our club have been touched at some point by someone with the disease. A mother, a father, a brother, a sister, a friend, no matter whom; it is one person too many.

The MCC chooses to align itself with the McGrath Foundation's goal and ideals each season. We run our own form of Pink Stumps to demonstrate our connection with the disease, its patients, its survivors, those who it has taken and their families.

Last year marked the first year of our Inaugural Pink Stumps day playing shirts, which were worn by all grades. Our Premier side donned the shirt in their Pink Stumps match against Dennington and the Pink Lady match against Nestles. With so much love from players and supporters for the shirts, we wanted to bring them back this year but go deeper again.

Our current Pink Stumps will be played all in One day fixtures, allowing for more colour to be used and this time a whole kit being made up for the big day.
